Meiko Kaji

Birthplace : Chiyoda, Tokyo
She began working in film industry for Nikkatsu in 1965. The Stray Cat Rock series gave her a name.
In 1971 to avoid doing Roman Porno, Meiko Kaji moved to Toei where she met director Shunya Ito.
She made four women in prison films in the crazy Female Prisoner Scorpion series. In 1973, the role of “Yuki” in Lady Snowblood, definitely gave her an icon status.
